Kazuyuki Otsu (1935 - ) Born in Isezaki City into a family of silk weavers, he started to learn woodblock printing in 1954. For 40 years Otsu was the assistant to Kiyoshi Saito, a woodblock artist at the forefront of the Sosaku Hanga movement. Out of respect and loyalty to Saito, Otsu didn't fully develop his own art until Saito's death in 1997. The artist's work features nostalgic images of Japan including old farmhouses, stone gardens and landscapes.
