Pierson Underwood (1899-1963) (Urban/Industrial Scene – under elevated tracks). This large (12 x 8 ¾ inch image), atmospheric etching is printed on sturdy tissue and signed and dated 1930 in pencil. There is some foxing and spotting in the margins and staining from old hinges in the upper corners. (See second photo).

Underwood was born in Evanston, Illinois, studied at Cambridge, the Sorbonne and Yale and was known as a painter, sculptor and printmaker.

Thank you for viewing my prints. I do not presently have a website but hope to have one online soon, at which point I’ll begin uploading some of the thousands of prints in my inventory. I also plan to send out quarterly e-catalogs. If you’d like to be notified when my site is live and/or receive the e-catalogs (or if you have questions about any of my prints in the show), please email me at tohubix@yahoo.com.

Please also check out my Instagram page at https://www.instagram.com/gargoylegallery/?hl=en About a third of the prints pictured there are for sale (the others are from my collections), and I post more each week
